With Christmas fast approaching the hunt is on for a new Advent calendar to use this year (because they simply MUST have chocolate in them). While our tree isn’t quite up yet, there’s still plenty of planning for Christmas to be done!
From buying gifts, to sending out the annual family newsletter, this is the busiest time of year! But I couldn’t pass up the chance to share with you a little magical tip I learned about a couple of years ago!
When it comes to writing letters to santa, kids take it SERIOUSLY. I mean, my kids have been working on this year’s Christmas list since approximately December 27th of last year. But now, it’s time to get serious, curl up with a mug of hot chocolate and get to writing!
Even though my kids don’t “believe” in Santa, we still love watching Rudolf every Christmas Eve and reading books about the Santa story. It’s a fun little game. We have a lot of little friends who believe in Santa, so that’s the best middle ground that we’ve found to work for our family.
If you are a family that fully embraces the Santa magic every year, I’m going to tell you two magical ways you can get a personalized letter BACK from Santa this year!
How to Mail Your Child’s Letter to Santa
If your kids already know how sending letters work, then a trip to the post office is ESSENTIAL!
Did you know that there is a city in Indiana that is called Santa Claus? Even better they will write letters back to your kid on behalf of the big guy himself.
Send your letter Santa letter to:
45 North Kringle Place
Santa Claus, IN 47579
This post office in Indiana is the only one in the world to have Santa Claus in its name. In 1914, the post master started writing letters back to kids on behalf of Santa, and today the non-profit organization Santa’s Elves Inc, working with the Santa Claus Museum, organizes volunteers to answer all the Santa letters that flood this tiny post office during the holidays. 22,000 letters were answered in 2015.
If you have a kiddo writing a letter to Santa, this is an adorable way to bring some magic into their December!
Have their letters been sent to the North Pole already, or are they still working on them?
