The Perfect, Chewy M&M Cookie Bar Recipe
We all need a quick, super simple recipe we can make for our family and friends. This classic M&M cookie bar recipe hits the spot every time.
There’s no chilling required (yay for that!) and this recipe uses common kitchen ingredients you probably already have in your pantry and fridge.
Plus, you can make these cookie bars ahead of time and freeze for any type of day that needs a cookie bar to make it better.
Before diving into this recipe, make sure that you have all the ingredients necessary to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Ingredients
Flour. Use all purpose flour for best results.
Cornstarch. This ingredient makes the cookie bars super soft!
Baking soda. Just a few pinches help these cookie bars rise.
Baking powder. Don’t add too much!
Salt. Always add salt to bring out all the flavors.
Butter. Use unsalted and brown the butter first.
Brown sugar. Adds a toasty flavor.
White Sugar. To add the perfect amount of sweetness to each cookie bar.
Eggs. These hold the bars together.
Vanilla extract. Use REAL vanilla extract, pretty please! 🙂
Mini M&M’s. The smaller version keeps the bars super pretty and evenly distributes the chocolate covered candy pieces.
Semisweet chocolate chips. You can use milk or dark chocolate, but we highly recommend semi-sweet for the perfect touch of sweetness!
