Sweet Wildflower Girls Nursery – Project Nursery

Share Article

What a treat this wildflower girls nursery is! We love a bold wallpaper, and this dark wallpaper with green and blue florals looks striking in an otherwise more neutral space. Molly Julian, mother of two and designer of this nursery, added just the right amount of pops of color to balance the space with the gorgeous green painted dresser and the aqua sconces on the wall.

Molly lives near Chicago with her family and shares her love of home design on instagram. Be sure to check out her account for plenty of design inspiration. Thank you, Molly, for sharing your daughter’s nursery with us!

Where did you pull inspiration for your nursery design?
The wallpaper was my starting point for this nursery. I fell in love with the colors and playful, classic pattern. I wanted something that my daughter would be able to grow into and enjoy for years to come. Otherwise, I knew I wanted to lean into the blues and greens in this nursery since I opted for pinks with my oldest. By keeping the rest of the walls white, I was able to keep it serene and pull in warmth with a wooden crib and light fixture.

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
I love a good DIY, so hunting down the perfect shade of green and painting her dresser was very rewarding. Also, tackling the wallpaper while pregnant was an accomplishment in itself. Seeing it all come together in the end is the most enjoyable.

What is your favorite part or detail in your nursery?
I think the sconces are such a fun yet practical touch. They have remote controlled battery lightbulbs for easy access if you are reading or feeding in the rocker.

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery
design project?

I would encourage them to find a starting point and build off of that, whether that be a piece of artwork, wallpaper, etc.
